Effective Pictures for Genre Task

Narrative:  I like this photo for this specific genre mainly for the fact it adds emotion to the picture. The desaturation connotes how there may be a negative emotion within the atmosphere whilst they are having the conversation. Emotion is a symbol of narration because it helps understand a story and a tone. Black and white can connote a lot of things such as 'the olden times' as well, for example in Will I Am 'Bang Bang' he used it to how that. But in this picture i feel it conveys the negative emotion across well which helps the audience understand that it is a narrative video.

 

Performance: This is my favorite for performance because with a funky font saying words this helps us understand the lyrics and this connotes how the lyrics and music are the most important part of performance. The high angle shot focused on the piano is also a connotation of how performance is focused on the band/singer playing their instrument and I believe this photo highlights that well.

Image: I like this high control image because it is bright and is drawing attention to her. The source of lighting is bright and therefore makes herself the focus of the shot. By bringing focus this is making her back end stand out which is therefore image as the attention is focused on that body part. As well as this the angle is from behind which puts the emphasis on a certain body part.
