Interpretation of genres- Non effective Pictures Lucy

Narrative: The problem with this photo is that with the bright light around them, yes it is drawing attention to them talking but it blurs out their facial expressions which is a key element to narration as this is where we understand the story from an audiences perspective. Also because the shot is a long shot, we are seeing the full surrounding but by doing this we can hardly focus our attention to what is being portrayed.

Performance: I personally do not like having a blue filter over the singer because by doing this you are taking away the focus of the piano as you're focusing on the whole picture otherwise. whereas with the titles they were n the piano so all attention was there. Also the blue has no relevance and therefore denotes the performance aspect.
Image: I do not like having text whilst trying to use image to sexualise a body part. this is because by adding text your attention is drawn off the body part and onto the text and therefore the text isn't an aspect of the genre of image. Also where the text is positioned it draws your attention to there instead of the body, but if the text was positioned on the body part you wanted the audience to look at then may that would of been more effective.
